Academy of Arts

We were so blessed to have the Academy of Arts team with us this weekend! Not only did they help with our parade, they also performed a hour-long drama for us during the morning service! It was about hymn writers and hymn stories.

They sang several of the hymns throughout the performance.

Telling the story of Horatio Spafford and "It is Well." Wow...that one was a tear-jerker! You can see Horatio on the right leaning at the "rail" of the boat, and Mrs. Spafford on the left grieving over her loss while waiting for her husband.

The story behind "Face-to-Face"

Fanny Crosby!

New Freedom Parade

Each year our church enters a VBS float in our town parade...

Float preparation

We tied each of the balloons to a bottle of water and a bag of literature.  We handed them out to the kids at the end of the parade.

50 balloons ready to go on the float!

Our float!  Nothing fancy this year, but it worked :)

We had the Academy of Arts drama team with us this past weekend, so they volunteered to help us in the parade.  What a blessing they were!

Kyle and Eric - our VBS team captains :)

 Like our new church logo?

Bill and Denise drove the truck for us...

We had walkers on either side of the float handing out flyers.

The whole crew!  Thanks for your help, everyone!

Hershey Park!

We treated Adam to a day at Hershey Park for his birthday!

On the shuttle to the park...

It POURED for about the first 10 minutes we were there.

We all got soaked!

We did the bumper cars first to get out of the rain :)

Waiting in line for the ferris wheel...

View from the top!

We spent some time in ZooAmerica, which is part of Hershey Park.

The guys all rode the roller coasters.  More power to them!  I opted to warm the park bench.

Eeek.  What were they thinking?!?

Ugggh...this one makes me dizzy just looking at it!  I didn't feel so good after riding it :(

We ended our time at Hershey with a visit to Chocolate World!

On the tour ride through the factory.

For you, Mom Burtt! :)

We were tired and hungry by about 10 p.m., so the guys treated us to Red Robin.  Food never tasted so good!  We got the waiters and waitresses to sing to Adam for his bday.  They even brought him a free ice cream sundae!
