A Day in Mayberry

Our last stop was Mount Airy, NC....hometown of Andy Griffith!  Although this wasn't the actual town where the Andy Griffith show was filmed, it was the basis for the people and places in Mayberry.  It even has a little Mayberry "Main Street" set up for tourists.  Fun!

We stopped for lunch at Barney's Cafe.  It was such a cozy little diner!

The infamous Blue Bird Diner! ("....Nita....Waaaaaaanita!")

Floyd is one of my favorite characters on the show!

Wally's Filling Station (Gomer says "Hey" ;))

"Hello, Sarah?"

"Ten-four....over and out."

The Mayberry jail

Otis' cell :)

A brick....in honor of Ernest T. Bass!

We love Andy Griffith!  It was definitely worth the stop :)

Visit with the Hollandsworths in NC

We got to visit my family for a few days on the way home from Florida.  We love their new church!  It's great to see Dad back in the pulpit again :)

The Fam!

Sisters :)

The scenery in NC was gorgeous!

Naval Air Museum

We visited the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola, too!

I love old cars :)

This part of the museum was my favorite :)  It was called "The Home Front."  They had a little town setup like it would have been during the WWII era.  So awesome!

Here's a grocery store...

And here's a war-era home...

Here's the street!

No WWII era town was complete without a movie theater.

Florida is home to the Blue Angels!

Pensacola Beach

We took advantage of the opportunity to visit Pensacola Beach while we were in Florida.  It's so beautiful!

Adam texting pics to the family :)

I loved all the palm trees!

Pensacola Trip

We had the opportunity to surprise Josh and Phil Hollandsworth (Katie's brothers), Mary and Suzy Burtt (Adam's sister and cousin), and Cameron and Kyle Callahan (guys from our church) down at Pensacola Christian College this past week!  It was so fun!

Phil showed us around campus, including the Sports Center where he works.  They even have a huge rock wall and water park inside.  Cool!

It was nice to spend some quality time with each of the family/friends we visited at PCC...

We got to see Josh's collegiate softball game!

On Thursday night we took all of them to Sonny's BBQ, then to 32 Degrees Frozen Yogurt Shop afterwards...

(Above) At Red Robin with Katie's brothers

(Below) We were able to be at PCC for a special "Diamond Jubilee" concert given in honor of Drs. Arlin and Beka Horton.  They are retiring after 60 years of ministry.  The concert was held in the Crowne Centre...

(Above) The Hortons!

(Below) Several special guests flew in for the occasion, including this Congresswoman!  She is a graduate of PCC...how cool is that?

(Below) We met up with Amy and Erin Dirks while we were at PCC.

It was so fun to see all of you!  Miss you already :)
