Easter Breakfast

Our church had an Easter Breakfast yesterday during the Sunday School hour. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and good food :) Unfortunately, I (Katie) was in the kitchen most of the time, so I didn't get many pics. At least these few will give you an idea of what it was like...

I'm including this picture because the teen guy on the right was the one who got saved last Sunday! It was so exciting to see him attend the breakfast and church afterwards. It's evident in his face that he's a new creature in Christ! Praise the Lord!

All the food was cleaned out! It must have been good :)

After church, Adam and I had a single lady from our church over for dinner. I really enjoyed cooking my first holiday meal! I got out the china and made a fancy dinner -- Ham, hash brown casserole, green beans amandine, baked pineapple and yeast rolls. Deb (the lady we invited) made a wonderful peach pie for dessert. Yum!

That evening we had the Lord's Supper in the service. It was a great way to end the day! I'm so grateful that Christ not only died for all my sins (and yours!), but that He rose again so that we could have continual victory over sin. Praise the Lord!

Happy Resurrection Day!

You Can Dress Him Up...

...But you can't take him out! :)

Tonight Adam and I went to Cracker Barrel for dinner because someone treated us with a gift card. While we were waiting for our food, Adam decided that this little tri-fold thingee worked well as a guillotine (Notice the little "head" on the table)...

Gotta love him! :) At least he's creative...

Fisher Visit

This weekend Mike and Beth Fisher were here with their 2 kids, Chris and Abby. It was great to see them again! Mike preached on Sunday, and we're also going to try to get him into the public school in the area.

After church on Sunday night we took the Fishers to Rita's!

Chris and Abby are SUPER cute! I tried to get some pics of them, but this was all they would give me. Little stinkers! They must take after their dad... :)

We greatly appreciated the Fishers being here. The Lord used Mike's preaching on Sunday in both the morning and evening services. In the evening service, the Lord used Mike's message on the "Realities of Hell" from Luke 16. One young man was convinced of the reality of hell and his need for the Savior. Praise the Lord, I (Adam), got to counsel him and show him the way to salvation through Jesus Christ's work on our behalf! He got saved according to God's promise by calling out to the Lord to save him (Romans 10:13).

Computer Woes...

Poor Adam! He has been working so hard to get his old computer working. It crashed on him a couple of weeks ago, so he's been trying to recover as much as he can from the hard drive. I found him like this tonight...working on both computers at once! :)

Kid's Night

This past Friday we had a Kid's Night so that the couples in our church could have a night off. We watched a movie, ate pizza, and played at the park. The kids all had a blast....and so did the adult helpers (in fact, I think the adults had MORE fun than the kids)!

Please note the rather BIG kid on the right.... :)

Mom and Dad Hollandsworth's Visit

We so much enjoyed having my parents, Jim and Leslie Hollandsworth, here this week! This past Monday we traveled down to Inner Harbor, Baltimore. It was such a beautiful day!

A submarine ship from one of the World Wars...

Inner Harbor is so beautiful! There's a few old ships that are available for touring...

We did some shopping in the Inner Harbor mall...

What do you think? Is is me? :)

They had a cupcake shop!

This is definitely seafood world....ick.

The seafood didn't look too appetizing, so we stopped at Uno's for lunch instead.

Our last stop was this neat Barnes and Noble bookstore. It's an old renovated factory building!

The inside had these really neat smokestacks everywhere...

Thanks for coming, Mom and Dad! We enjoyed having you here!

Financial Seminar

This past week, Dad and Mom Hollandsworth came to visit! Dad was able to do a financial seminar at our church Sunday through Wednesday. Our church family really enjoyed the seminar!

We stopped at a pizza shop one night after church...

Even the Little Things

Recently the Lord has allowed me to find some phenomenal sales and bargains. This is the most recent find at a yard sale--about $125 worth of brand-new scrapbooking stickers! I only paid $2.00 for the whole amount. Nice, huh? :)

The Lord has been so good to provide for the little "wants" as well as the needs. The stickers were definitely a "want," and the Lord provided so that I didn't have to spend a ton of money!

Also, the other day I saw a Vera Bradley purse, and briefly thought, "Lord, someday it would be neat to get one of those...they're so pretty!" However, I know they're expensive, so I quickly put the idea out of my mind and started thanking the Lord for the brown purse that I paid only $7.00 for last year at Walmart. :)

The next day, one of my adult piano students walked into lessons with an Easter present for me. Can you guess what it was? A brand-new Vera Bradley purse! And not only that, but it was one of their new "Spring" line of purses! Isn't it pretty?

I'm so thankful to have a God who cares not only about our needs, but also about little wants as well. God didn't have to provide the stickers and the purse (I would have been content without them), but He does those special things just because He loves us. Just wanted to share that with you today. :)

Making Yeast Rolls

I made a bunch of Parker House Yeast Rolls this past Saturday for a church fellowship that we were having on Sunday. I made a double batch so that there would be enough for everyone...but I forgot to double the bowl size! Look at the mess it made when it rose....

It was worth it, though :)

My Adorable Husband :)

Last night I was scrapbooking in the kitchen when Adam decided he wanted to join me. He got into my flower stickers and put them all over his face! :)

Doesn't he look cute? ;)
