Evening Walks

The evenings have been so beautiful here recently that we decided to take a few walks around our town.

The scenery is so lovely!

We found a park nearby and decided to have a little fun :)

Resting on a park bench...

"One small step for Adam; one giant leap for mankind." :)

Tonight Adam surprised me by treating me to ice cream at Summer's, an ice cream place down the street from us...

Mmmmmm!

I think the ice cream made us a little loopy... ;)

Adam thought it would be fun to tap me on the nose with his spoon...

Summer's has really neat decor, including these cool surfboards (but Adam didn't like the fish :))

We have an old train station just a block or two from our house. Unfortunately, it's not in use and looks rather run-down, but it's a neat part of history that's practically in our backyard!

When I looked inside the train station window, I noticed that the ticket prices listed were from April 29, 1928!

Adam pretending to be the conductor...

Ah, yes, the old pasttime of walking the railroad tracks! He was doing okay for a while...

...until the tracks got wider...

...hmmm...he may be in trouble up ahead. :)

The old Stewartstown water tower.

We saw this big guy in someone's yard as we walked. Adam thought he could take him.

I know a few people who could use a bumper sticker like this one! :)

Here I am at the Post Office checking box 33 at the end of our walk...
Love you all!

Monday Outing

Today we took a little trip to Brown's Market, which is like a higher-class farmer's market. We've heard raving reviews about it from our church people, so we decided to check it out for ourselves.

Brown's is located right in the heart of the Pennsylvania farmlands...

Brown's has an AWESOME bakery! The cakes in the bakery looked so good that Adam thought he would touch them to see if they were real. He didn't see the "Please do not touch!" sign until later...Oops!

We couldn't look around in the bakery for too long without sampling some of the goods. We bought some stuff and sat down to enjoy it in this little coffee shop

I got an apple turnover...

...and Adam got a chocolate chip cookie! He just couldn't wait long enough to take the plastic off :)

Adam gave me my month's allowance while we were eating. A quarter! Whoo-hoo! ;)

We had a lovely afternoon!

Our New Car

We praise the Lord for the provision of our new/used Honda Accord! The church voted to give the car to us a few Sundays ago. It's a blue-green color...isn't it beautiful?

PA license plates! Whoo-hoo! :)

The competition between the Crocs and Gators was heated throughout the week! In the end, the Gators won...

Breakfast with Dad

Dad Hollandsworth stopped in for a visit the other day and took Adam and I to breakfast. We also got to show him our church and house. It was great to see him again!

VBS Preparation

On Sunday night we set up all the decorations for our "Egypt File" VBS which began last night. Here we are trying to get in "the mood." :)

Adam hugging the mummy I painted for our classroom. We call our little mummy "Tut." :)

Adam is the leader of our VBS, so he gets to wear a special costume...

Please pray for our VBS this week (Aug 2-6, 6:30-8:30 p.m.)!
