We're In!

Hello everyone!

We just wanted to let y'all know that after three months of interim here at Grace Bible Church, the congregation finally voted us in this past Sunday night. The vote was unanimous. Praise the Lord! We look forward to seeing how the Lord will use us in this ministry in the years to come. Please pray for us!

Love you all,
Adam and Katie :)

Ladies' Bible Study

This past Tuesday (Sept 14th), I led the first Ladies' Bible Study in our church basement. Six ladies showed up! We are studying the women of the Bible, so we started off our study with Eve. I was QUITE nervous at the beginning (because all the women are older than me!), but the Lord enabled. Praise the Lord!

Since the basement of the church is plain and has florescent lights, I decided to spruce things up a bit. I put nice tablecloths on the tables, lit some candles, put a lamp in the middle of the table, and added some color by bringing in fall decorations. To top it all off, I brought in my teacups and a teapot to use during refreshment time. The ladies loved it!

I plan to hold this Bible study the second Tuesday of every month. Please pray for me during these times!

Burtt Visit

We had a great time with Mom and Dad Burtt and Philip this weekend! We took them to get some Rita's Water Ice after dinner on Saturday night...

I got this kind...Swedish fish-flavored! It was really good! :)

The only problem was that the evening got a little chilly. We had to sit really close together to keep warm! They all liked the water ice, though. :)

On Monday, we took them all to Lancaster County, PA--home of the Amish. We stopped here at the Farmer's Market to look around...

Mom and Dad enjoyed the Farmer's Market, but Adam and Philip got a little bored :)

Next we went to Kitchen Kettle Village...
...where we watched this girl make fudge...

...and watched these Amish ladies making Jams and Jellies!

We also got to sample all the jellies and salsas here at the Jam and Jelly House.

We stopped by a little coffee shop while Mom and Dad shopped. :)

I think this picture looks like a postcard, don't you?

After touring Kitchen Kettle, we were ready to head home. Adam let Dad Burtt drive, and we took a scenic route through Amish country. Beautiful, isn't it?

We even happened upon some Amish farmers harvesting their corn!

I think this is the REAL reason Adam wanted Dad to drive! :)

On our way home we took some pictures of the PA hills at dusk...

Thanks for coming, Dad, Mom and Philip! We enjoyed having you here! :)

Baptismal Service

Today we had a Potluck and Baptismal service at church. After Adam preached an outstanding message on James 2, we headed downstairs to the potluck lunch...

Because our church doesn't have a baptistry, we used a church member's pool to do the baptisms. Here is Adam preparing to get into the pool. It was his first baptism and he had 7 people to baptize! I think he was a bit nervous! However, he did a fine job and the Lord enabled. We were also worried that the water would be freezing because the weather has been in the 60's the last few days. Thankfully, the water wasn't too bad and the sun shined down on us to help out a bit. :)

Praise the Lord for a beautiful day and a wonderful service!

Hershey Park

Someone in our church was able to get us free Hershey Park tickets, so Adam and I went yesterday. We had an AWESOME time! It was VERY hot, but we enjoyed every minute of being together.

This was the first "ride" we went on...the skylift. We both can't stand the roller coasters or spin-me-till-I-lose-my-lunch rides, so we rode all the tame ones. :)

Next were the bumper cars!

There's actually a nice zoo in the park, too. We stopped in to look at all the animals (and to cool down in the air conditioning!).

This was one of our favorite rides--the kissing tower! :)

It has these cute Hershey kiss windows...

Some of the riding instructions were funny!

We could see the whole park from the tower...

...and managed to get a little smooching in as well :)

Classic car ride...

We really liked the log flume, too...

Watch us go down the Log Flume!

Adam playing with the camera...

Riding the monorail

The monorail took us by the REAL Hershey factory.

After walking around in the heat for a while, we decided to sit down and figure out where we were...

Next we took a train ride around the park...

Adam in the classic cars...

...driving like Jehu! :)
Here's another Log Flume ride at Hershey (we didn't ride this one!). Check out that splash! The people who got off the ride were totally SOAKED.

The very last ride we went on was the carousel...

After a great time in the park, we visited Hershey's Chocolate World (my personal favorite :))

On the tour ride...

These cows were rather interesting...they SANG!

Mmmmmmm.....

Oh yeah!

Adam matched all the Reese's stuff!

This is TOTALLY our next car. :)

Leaving the park and heading to dinner

We wrapped up our day by going to Olive Garden for dinner (the place we had our very first date!).

After our meal, Adam leaned back and said, "That was good, but it sure wasn't as good as my Wubie's cooking." I love you, Adam! :)

THE END. :)
