Treat Time!

This past Wednesday was the viewing for the Kohler kids' grandpa. He passed away last Friday. Adam and I went to the viewing for a while, then decided to take the Kohler kids out for a treat at Rita's Water Ice so that they didn't have to sit at the funeral home for so long. We all had a great time, and I think it took their minds off of everything for a little while.

I think Adam wins for the most colorful tongue!

Grandpa and Grandma's 50th Anniversary Party

This past Tuesday we traveled up to New Jersey to celebrate my Grandpa and Grandma VanRiper's 50th anniversary...



All of our Uncles, Aunts, and cousins met us at this fancy Italian restaurant for dinner.


The restaurant had a little place for pictures...so we took advantage of it!

My brothers weren't able to be there because they're working in Florida for the summer, but they called to wish G'pa and G'ma a happy anniversary. Way to go, guys :)

Fun at the Mall

Adam and I went up to New Jersey on Tuesday to visit my grandparents, and also celebrate their 50th anniversary. Before we went out to dinner that night, we stopped at a mall to kill some time...

Yes, Adam and Beth were SERIOUSLY going to put a dollar in the machine so they could take a spin in this kiddie ride. However, they discovered that the age limit was 8 and under. They didn't get to ride after all! :)

Next we decided to look at shoes. Adam found these interesting sandals with "suspenders" as he called them. We thought my Dad would like them because he wears suspenders :)

Adam's foot was the exact size of these sandals on the floor :)

Ladies' Tea and Luncheon

This past Saturday we had our Ladies' Tea and Luncheon at our church. It was a blast! Even though it was a lot of work, we thoroughly enjoyed preparing for it. Our guests enjoyed it as well! I want to say a BIG thank you to Deb, Jenny, Laurie, Jess, and Becky for all the time and effort they put into the tea. You gals did a great job!

After we had strung all the lights and brought out the fancy china, our basement looked like it got a make-over! Isn't it pretty?

Some of our ladies brought their collection of teacups and teapots to display. I love these little "tearoom touches." :)

My family, the Hollandsworths, arrived in town on Friday night. We enjoyed having dinner with them at Ryan's buffet!
