Lake Tobias Wildlife Park

This past Saturday we were invited to go with some church families to Lake Tobias Wildlife Park in Halifax, PA. (David, you would LOVE this place!) We had a blast!

Here we are on the safari tour bus...

Yak

Zonkeys....part zebra, part donkey

Adam got to feed this female elk!

Elk

The Texas longhorns were a little scary, but Adam was brave enough to feed them and grab their horns...

His tongue is longer than Adam's! :)

They also had a little petting zoo at the park. I loved these little goats....too cute!

The goats were just the right size for little Katie Kohler.

Here's part of the group that went....

...and here's the other part!

Adam petting a snake in the reptile house

....and I'm petting a baby alligator!

Lol! :)

World's largest rodent. The thing was as big as a dog!

Soccer Game

Adam and I went to a soccer game on Thursday night. It was fun...but quite chilly! The weather dropped from 85 degrees on Wednesday to 50 degrees on Thursday. Crazy! However, I took advantage of the cold weather and got my first Caramel Apple Spice of the season from Starbucks. Mmmmm......if anything tastes like fall, that does! :)

Girls' Tea

Today we had a tea party with our church girls! I promised them that we would have one because they weren't able to come to the Ladies' Tea a few months ago. Sarah Jones and Kristin Ali helped me, and everyone had a blast!

The tea invitation...

The tearoom...

I painted a personalized teacup for each girl

Mom Burtt, I made the ice cream jello and it turned out great! See the little dishes on the plates?

Kristin Ali, one of my helpers :)

Kristin and I sat at this table with the little munchkins :) I asked the girls to wear hats if they had one, so I decided to join them too. That's why I'm wearing the goofy hat in this pic ;)

Teapot cookies!

The menu: Ice cream jello, bagel bites pizzas, ham and cheese, PB &J, mini eclairs, little fruit danishes and cookies. Beverages were chocolate milk and tea. Definitely a kids menu! :)

Teatime! All the girls did SO well....we didn't have many spills :) It was really funny to watch the little ones put about 4 or 5 lumps of sugar in their tea and then nearly overflow it with milk! Lol! I wonder how it tasted? It sure didn't look too appetizing! Thankfully we also served chocolate milk as a backup ;)

The "big girls" table

Sarah Jones did a Bible lesson on the verse "Taste and see that the Lord is good." She had the girls close their eyes and taste different foods. She did a great job....the girls loved it!

After the Bible lesson, the girls made bracelets!

We had SO much fun...we'll have to make it an annual tradition :)

Homemade Bread

Recently I've been absolutely appalled by the rising cost of groceries (especially bread)! I'm getting so tired of spending $3-$4 on a loaf of bread (nope....I don't buy cheapo white bread). So I decided to get creative and make my OWN bread. It turned out GREAT!

I made a total of 4 loaves, and it cost WAY less than the store's prices. It freezes well, too!

....and the best part is that my husband loves it :)

If anyone is interested in trying it, the recipe can be found on Taste of Home's website. Here's the web address: http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/Homemade-Bread
It's really easy to make! Enjoy :)
